Is MMA too violent?

Is MMA too violent?
MMA brings many different ideas to the table. With MMA, comes a variety of questions that are very universal in subject matter. Is MMA too violent?  A more than ideal amount of people would say yes. But MMA isn't just about the idea that 2 men or women go into a cage and beat each other senseless until one is unable to continue. There are so many things that go into the sport of MMA. MMA is a mixture of disciplines such as wrestling, judo, tae kwon do, Muay Thai, and jiu-jitsu. It's an art form, a sequence of movements that are executed at precise times to ensure perfection. But with any sport, there are always disadvantages and when I say violence in the title, I don't only mean from the audiences standpoint, but from the fighters view. Fighters put their bodies through a lot of abuse. Many fighters find themselves with mental disorders as well as physical disabilities from years of taking blows to the head and body.

  1. It's interesting because it is intensely physical and amazing, but it can also be very dangerous, so it makes sense why states ban it and stuff.

  2. This is a great topic. Like you said MMA is such a disciplinary sport, and it means everything to these athletes. The fact that they are willing to go through all this physical damage just shows how much passion they have toward the sport.

  3. I think it's a great sport of discipline. It takes true dedication especially with the growth the sport has had, it's harder for someone to actually make something from it.

  4. I mean it's supposed to be violent isn't it? Even though these guys are literally kicking the crap out of each other there is still a great deal of respect between the two fighters. The fighters love what they do and wouldn't want to do anything else.
